Quick Update on the All Star Situation

So seeing as the All Star Game festivities begin in a mere 3 days, the NHL had to hop on finding replacements for the ailing players who were voted into the game. So the list goes as follows:

  • Jordan Eberle (EDM) will be replacing Mikko Koivu(MIN).This leaves roommate Taylor Hall the opportunity to fill his pillow case with shaving cream, plastic wrap his toilet seat, and stuff Bazooka Bubblegum in his practice gloves while he is away in Ottawa.
  • Nick Johnson (MIN) will be replacing Ryan Nuggent-Hopkins (EDM). “The Flow” (Ryan Jones) will no longer be able to throw belongings of “The Nuge” on the front lawn. Looks like Mrs. Flow will have plenty of help baking cookies what with having Jones, Nuggent-Hopkins, AND teammate Jeff Petry all home (lucky woman).
  • Kris Letang (PIT) will take the place of Dustin Byfuglien (WPG). Is it just me or did Ottawa just get hotter? The former concussed will take the place of Big Buff who has been out with a lower body injury since December 27th. Merci beaucoup, NHL.

No word on Jamie Benn (DAL) or Jonathan Toews’ (CHI) replacement. Benn had an emergency appendectomy January 15th and Toews has an undisclosed upper-body injury as of January 22nd.

About sunnyinnj

Female hockey fans are often referred to as "puck bunnies" and unfairly judged. As a female hockey fan with a desire to always learn more about the sport, I have an interest in any and all facets of the sport. I would like to write stories that appeal to female hockey fans who are not watching because the players are hot and look good in suits (that is a plus). My heart belongs to the Flyers but I have interest in players/teams all over the league. I know what it’s like being a new fan to the sport and having to hold your own with people who have been immersed in the game longer than I’ve been alive. Take a deep breath, it’s okay, we’ll get through this together. I don’t promise expertise, but I do hope to impart upon you my love for this “figure skating in a war zone” and create fans where there once weren’t and turn casual interest into all-out love. I am in this committed relationship with hockey and I do not foresee it ending anytime soon.
